Bulldogs Make the Call

Keith Joseph Jr. has heard his father's stories of playing in Davis Wade Stadium as a member of the Mississippi State defense. A generation later, the younger Joseph now has the opportunity to follow in his father's footsteps as a Bulldog. On Monday evening, Joseph had a conversation with Mississippi State defensive line coach David Turner that could prove to be a game changer.

"I got offered by Mississippi State tonight," said Joseph. "I talked with Coach (David) Turner and he told me that I had an offer."

The welcomed news caught the Pascagoula, Mississippi product a little off guard.

"When I last talked to Coach Turner, he was talking about coming to see me in the spring before they offered," said Joseph. "When I got on campus, things just clicked between me and him.

"It was just perfect and I guess he saw all he needed to see, because they went ahead and offered me."

Joseph had been rather coy about what an offer from Mississippi State would mean to his recruitment, but he was more open about the possibilities in Starkville now that the Bulldogs have offered.

"I am just so happy right now," said an excited Joseph. "I mean, my dad played up there and everything.

"I was hoping that they were going to offer me and now they have.

"I felt at home up there when I visited and I really like Coach Turner a lot.

"He seems like a good coach and good man."

While the news of the Bulldogs' offer is big for Joseph, he is still not ready to make a decision.

"I just want to take some time and see how things go," said Joseph. "I am not sure I want to let things play out until the end, but I want to let things play out for a while.

"I am just going to keep everybody even right now, while I think about things."

Joseph currently holds offers from Arizona State, Cincinnati, Louisiana, Louisville and now Mississippi State.
