Womack Enjoys Bulldog Practice Session

Magnolia Heights offensive lineman Matt Womack is a name on the rise. Despite an agonizing wait for offer number one, Womack saw his offer list grow to near a half dozen options shortly after his first option rolled in. With plenty to think about already, Womack is still hearing from several other programs who are discussing extending offers of their own.

Womack has been in regular contact with Mississippi State assistant coaches John Hevesy and Deshea Townsend.

While the Bulldogs have not offered yet, the relationship continues to progress.

The talented offensive tackle recently made his second unofficial visit to Starkville in just over a month.

"Mississippi State was great," said Womack. "Coach Hevesy just got off the phone with my coach a little while ago.

"He is coming to see me in a couple of weeks. They are just about ready to offer."

Should MSU follow through with an offer, it would be the second in state option for Womack.

Southern Miss is one of the more recent offers.

"I went to Southern Miss and I had a great visit," said Womack. "I was able to speak with Coach (Todd) Monken and he said I could make an instant impact there."

Several other programs are reaching out to begin a courtship of their own.

"Oklahoma State invited me to their junior day this Saturday," explained Womack. "LSU invited me to their spring game.

"Cincinnati told my coach that they only thing they are waiting on is to come and see me in the spring.

"Kansas State said that they really like my film. The coach there told me that they are a little slow when it comes to offers. He said their old school.

"Purdue says that they really like my film too.

"Coach told me that I have some mail from Texas too, but I haven't opened it yet."

In addition to the schools with a flirtatious vibe, a few other programs have asked to see more of Womack in person.

"Coach (Shawn) Elliot from South Carolina wants me to come to camp there in July," said Womack. "Coach (Sam) Pittman from Arkansas wants me to camp there too.

"A lot of people want me to come to camp, but I am not going to be able to do them all."

Womack currently holds offers from Arkansas State, Jacksonville State, Memphis, Southern Miss and UAB.

The list of options is expected to grow over the course of the spring evaluation period as college assistants have the chance to see Womack in person.

"Nobody is standing out right now," said Womack. "I am just keeping everything even right now."
