Dillon On the Move

Pine High school star Derrick Dillon admits to being a little taken a back by the fact that schools from coast to coast have kept his mailman busy over the course of the last few months. The explosive slot receiver currently holds a baker's dozen scholarship offers with more schools talking about following suit after an in person spring evaluation.

"I didn't expect all of this to happen to me," admitted Dillon humbly. "It's exciting to me and I am just having fun with all of this.

"I don't feel any pressure. I am just enjoying everything."

With offers from Arizona State, Florida, Florida State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Texas A&M and UCLA among others, Dillion has plenty to enjoy.

The four star wideout recently took unofficial visits to three of the schools who have extended offers.

"Last week, I went to Mississippi State to see them practice," said Dillon. "I had been up there before for a camp, but this time I got to see the team in action.

"I like the offense that they run and I like the coaches there. I had a good time seeing the team out there. They have a lot of energy.

"The week before that, I went to Florida and Florida State and that was fun. I had never been out there before.

"Florida State is a really nice school and I liked it over there too. I know they have a great offense and they like to use the wide receivers.

"I got to see Florida practice and that was fun. I liked watching them and it looks like they are going to have an exciting offense.

"I am going to Texas this weekend to visit the campus the day before I go to the Nike camp."

At this point, Dillon is not ready to tip his hand and reports that he still has some thinking to do before narrowing the field.

"I am planning on coming up with a top five before the season," said Dillon. "I am going to sort of narrow it down and the see how things go this season with everybody.

"Right now, I am just enjoying being able to go visit the schools and meet all of the coaches, so I can find the right school for me."
