Thomas picked up an offer from Mississippi State last month when he visited the Bulldogs' for a spring scrimmage.
"I had a good time," said Thomas. "There was a lot of competition between the wide receivers and the DBs.
"It was pretty intense and I liked watching all of that.
"I had seen everything on the campus before, but the thing that stood out to me was how hard the receivers played."
Thomas compares himself to current Bulldog slot receiver Jameon Lewis.
During the course of his visit to campus, Thomas learned that the Bulldogs plan to use him in a similar manner.
"I talked with Coach (Billy) Gonzales and he told me about their plans for me, if I decide to go there," explained Thomas. "He wants to move me around and use me some in the slot.
"He told me how bad he wants me to be a Bulldog and all of the coaches up there told me that they were glad I came back.
"I like Mississippi State. It's not that far from home and they run an offense similar to what we run in high school."
Thomas holds close to double digit offers as the spring semester winds down.
There is a chance that Thomas selects one of those schools as his college destination within the next sixty days.
"I am thinking about committing at the Opening (June 8th)," said Thomas. "I am not sure about that yet, but I am thinking about it.
"I know I want to to try to do it before the season.
