SEC Leaders for Gibson

Growing up in the heart of SEC county where football is King, Pinson Valley, Alabama standout Nick Gibson develop a keen interest in the programs of the Southeastern Conference. With a summer time decision pending, Gibson reports that the schools at the top of his pecking order all hail from the rugged SEC. On Saturday the rising star will make a return trip to one of those schools.

"We are leaving for Mississippi State at 10 o'clock in the morning," said Gibson. "I am looking forward to getting back over there and seeing their spring game.

"I am excited to see how they do on offense and to see how all of the running backs look.

"I am looking forward to seeing Coach Collins too."

Coach Collins is Bulldog defensive coordinator, Geoff Collins.

Gibson reports that the two go way back to the early days of his recruitment.

"Coach Collins was really the first coach to start recruiting me," explained Gibson. "We have a great relationship and he is always talking to me about being a Bulldog.

"He and Coach (Greg) Knox have both told me how bad they want me to come over there and be a Bulldog."

It appears that the Mississippi State recruiting efforts are paying off.

"I love the Bulldogs and I love the coaches over there," said Gibson. "They are one of my top schools.

"I would have to say that Mississippi State is my top three of four schools."

Gibson reports that Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee round out his quartet of top considerations.

With the in conference rivals still jockeying for position, Gibson has begun to narrow down his list of options as well as his time frame for a decision.

"I know I want to do it this summer," said Gibson of making his verbal commitment. "I want to go ahead and get it down, so I have plenty of time to build relationships with all of the coaches and players that I am going to be with the next few years."
