Tucker with SEC Leaders

Coming out of Hazlehurst High School Demond Tucker had a decision to make, but his list of college options were of the junior college variety. After a standout Freshman season at Co-Lin, Tucker is approaching twenty scholarship offers and a pair of schools from the SEC West lead the pack.

"I have 17 offers so far," said Tucker. "The latest one came from Texas A&M about a week and a half ago."

Tucker is a junior college success story, but he reports that he always had confidence his recruitment would take off.

"I didn't expect all of this to happen for me this early," said Tucker. "At the same time, I knew it was going to come sooner or later.

"I have had some nice offers and I am happy about everything."

Tucker reports that a pair of schools from the SEC are setting the recruiting pace.

"Texas A&M and Mississippi State are recruiting me the hardest," said Tucker. "They are always keeping in touch with me and telling me about what they have planned for me.

"They call me every other week and they let me know that they want me to come and play for them."

The elevated level of recruiting attention has the Aggies and Bulldogs at the top of the offer pile.

"As of right now, Texas A&M and Mississippi State are my top schools," said Tucker. "I like how hard they play and I really like the Maroon and White.

"They are both making me feel like they really want me and that's setting them apart from the other schools."

Tucker is on track to graduate in December and he plans to take some in season official visits before making his decision.
