Sisco Keeps Rolling

Cortez Sisco sheepishly admits that his early offer haul of over a dozen options caught him a little off guard. Not that Sisco has a lack of confidence, he was simply surprised by the good fortune that has arrived at his door step in bunches. Sisco is grateful for every offer that has been extended, but he is still out looking for even more.

Cortez Sisco profile

"I have thirteen total offers so far," said Sisco. "Of the schools that haven't offered me yet, LSU, Auburn, Mississippi State and Ole Miss are all showing me a lot of attention."

Sisco attended Mississippi State junior day back during the month of February. Another visit to Starkville is expected in June.

"I am going to hit all of the local camps," said Sisco. "I want to go to Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU and Auburn and a few more.

"Memphis really wants me to come up to their camp and see what side of the ball I fit."

While some programs have considered slapping the athlete label on Sisco and projecting his position at a later date, the talented defensive back admits he has a preference when it comes to where he lines up.

"I really want to play on defense," said Sisco. "I just like defense better and I like being able to go out there and hit people."

Sisco is not looking to make an early decision, but he reports that one of his current offers is standing out.

"Southern Miss is really recruiting me hard," said Sisco. "I went down there and I met with Coach Todd Monken and he really made me feel comfortable.

"They are recruiting me hard and they sort of have me on the string right now."

A verbal commitment is not planned for the immediate future, so the process will continue for some time.

"I don't want to rush into anything, because this is going to be for the next four years of my life," said Sisco. "I want to go through the process and study up on all of the schools that offer me.

"I want to major in Information Systems, so my major will have a lot to do with the school I choose."
