McGinnis Enjoying the Process

Linebacker Arthur McGinnis is part of an extremely talented senior class at Warren Easton High School in New Orleans. McGinnis currently holds over a dozen major college offers with even more schools considering following suit. McGinnis reports that right now his focus is on spring football on the high school level rather than the next one.

"We are just really getting started with spring football," said McGinnis. "We have our spring game coming up in about three weeks against St. Aug (Augustine).

"Coach hasn't said too much about all of that, but we're out here working hard and trying to get better."

McGinnis reports that he has thirteen college scholarship offers, but that a group within that group is beginning to gain a bit of separation.

"The schools that are recruiting me the hardest are Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Texas Tech and now Notre Dame," explained the talented linebacker. "I have a good relationship with all of the coaches from those schools and they all have good things to say.

"I am going to do my best to go see all of them this summer when they have their camps.

"I am excited about everything. I have some good offers."

The New Orleans native reports that his time frame for a decision is not set in stone, but he is not considering a pre-season decision at this point.

"I am really thinking about making my decision after the season or right around signing day," said McGinnis. "I am going to take some visits and then make a decision.

"I am just looking for the best opportunity and I will go wherever I need to go.

"I plan on majoring in business, so I want to go somewhere that has a great business program.

"I want to go where I have a great relationship with the linebacker coach, because I am going to be with him for four years.

"The last thing is I want to play. I want to go somewhere that I have a good chance of playing early."
