Chance To Shine

Class of 2015 quarterback Nick Tiano welcomed a member of the West Virginia coaching staff on Monday, allowing the Mountaineers the opportunity to evaluate his workout performance.

Spring evaluations mean opportunity for high school prospects, and that's exactly what Nick Tiano was looking for.

On Monday, West Virginia offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Shannon Dawson watched the Chattanooga (TN) signal-caller, a few months removed from hosting the three-star for junior day.

"It went great," Tiano told "I thought everything went well."

Tiano (6'5, 230 lbs.) was pleased with his performance despite a limited number of reps. However, he was still hopeful to catch the eye on the Mountaineer staffer.

"I didn't throw a ton because we have a scrimmage tomorrow," Tiano said. "I wanted to be fresh for that. Hopefully he (Dawson) was able to see enough."

He currently holds offers from Miami (Fla.), Mississippi State and UT-Chattanooga. With his showing on Monday, he's hoping to add West Virginia in the same column.

"I'm supposed to talk with Coach Dawson tonight," Tiano said. "Hopefully he was able to see enough."

Tiano combined for more than 1,000 yards of total offense and 10 touchdowns last season as a junior. will continue to provide updates on his recruitment.
