"Coach has us resting right now," said Stamps. "We start our workouts on June 2nd, so I have been resting and getting ready for all of that.
"We had a good spring and now we want to carry everything over to the season."
The Warren Central program has taken some very positive steps over the course of Stamps' career.
"We just want to get to the next round," said Stamps. "My tenth grade year, we lost to Olive Branch in the first round and then we lost to Tupelo last year.
"We have a good group of seniors that has played together since tenth grade and everybody knows what to do.
"We just want to get to the next round of the playoffs and then we'll see what happens after that."
Stamps, the state's top cover corner, currently holds seven offers with Washington State being the most recent.
Mississippi State currently holds the three star corner's verbal commitment.
"I got a message on twitter from Coach (Greg) Knox today," said Stamps. "He was inviting me up there for the camp and he wants me to come on one of the days they have set up.
"I haven't been talking to them as much lately, because I know they are out there busy trying to get some other guys in the class and they know I am already part of their family."
The Bulldogs have done enough to earn Stamps' college pledge, but more schools may attempt to test the limits of that commitment.
"This spring was a little different for me. I got better, but I was trying to help my coach teach the defense to some of the younger guys.
"I wasn't worried as much about myself as I was trying to help everybody get everything down.
"I thought we looked pretty good in the spring game.
"There are some things we need to work on, but I feel good about the season.
"I know we're going to have a good team."
