In his Southeast Select Canton combine notebook, Robertson wrote that "Morton freshman linebacker Freddie Hartz Jr. really caught my eye. Already 6-0, 215, Hartz is easy to spot in drills. While his testing numbers were not eye popping his work in drills was solid. He is certainly a name to remember."
As of now, Hartz is still under the radar recruiting-wise, but attending combines like the Southeast Select Combine and college camps will likely change that.
"When I go to the camps I try to impress and let them know who I am," said Hartz.
A veteran of one camp already, he has plans to attend at least two this summer.
"I went to Mississippi State's camp my 7th grade year. And I plan on attending a couple of college camps college camps this summer," said Hartz. "This year, I plan on going to Mississippi State and Ole Miss."
Hartz is certainly happy that he decided to attend the Southeast Select Combine. He explained how his decision to attend happened.
"My best friend from Morton wanted me to come with him to see what it was like, but I wanted to come as well," said Hartz.
