DeBrossard explained why he decided to attend the Mississippi State camp.
"I decided to come to this camp because (Mississippi State assistant) Coach (David) Turner called me about the camp and I felt that it would be a good learning experience for me to come to it," said DeBrossard, who measured in at 6-foot-4, 323 pounds and ran a 5.23 forty at the MSU camp (the forty time was timed by me). "It would also allow me to see what an actual college campus looks like as well as see how I would fit into the Mississippi State football program."
He came away impressed with his overall experience at Mississippi State.
"They helped me a lot with different fundamentals of the offensive line, and I got to see what a wonderful campus Mississippi State has," said DeBrossard. "Mississippi State is an extremely good university, one that I would be interested in attending."
Mississippi State was his first college camp to attend this summer and more camps are forthcoming.
"This is my first camp this summer," said DeBrossard, who is receiving recruiting attention from Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Mercer and several Ivy League schools. "I plan on attending camps at Georgia State, Mercer and North Carolina State. That's about it so far."
While football is very, very important to him, DeBrossard also puts a great deal of value in education. And that will be an important part of his college choice decision.
"Academics are very important to me because I feel the combination of football and academics will take me further than just going one route," he said.
He even has an idea what he will major in once he attends college.
"I would like to major in pre-law and economics as well as kinesiology, but, ultimately, I want to go to a business university for graduate school and major in intellectual properties and become a lawyer," said DeBrossard.
