Jones came to MSU with the intentions of taking an unofficial visit, but he ended up camping as well and he really enjoyed the camp experience.
"I was coming for my (unofficial) visit today but (Mississippi State offensive line coach John Hevesy) asked me if I was ready to work and I said I'm ready to work, so I worked," said the Scout.com three-star talent. "And I enjoyed myself. (Coach Hevesy) is an outstanding coach and was very hard on me. That was something that I liked because he thinks I'm a very good player and I got to show my talent."
Mississippi State was the first college that he has attended this summer. But more are on the horizon.
"This was my first visit this summer," said the Powder Springs, Georgia native. "I'm also going to Louisville in two weeks, then I'm going to a showcase in July."
He explained what he tries to learn while camping at a college.
"When I camp at a college, I try to pick up techniques from them so that I can be a better player and help my team out," said the talented youngster.
It appears that his time at Mississippi State made a great impression on Jones.
"I'm going to come back here for my official visit later," said Jones, who has eight scholarship offers, including one from Mississippi State.
