Monday's Mississippi State camp was McLaurin's first time to visit the Mississippi State campus. And he came away very impressed with what he saw.
"This is my first time to come to Mississippi State," he said. "I enjoyed coming to Mississippi State. I love the campus, great environment, love the coaches. They are really nice and easy to get along with."
MSU is one of many college campuses that he will be seeing this summer.
"I'm going to USM tomorrow, then I'm coming back to one another one of these camps (at MSU), then I'm going to Ole Miss, LSU and Georgia, going to a lot of camps," said the youngster.
He explained why he is participating in so many camps this summer.
"I come to college camps to get some recognition, some exposure, get my name out there, show the coaches what I can do," said.
And Donterizs definitely showed what he can do at the Mississippi State camp. He ran a 4.5 forty-yard dash, had a 40-inch vertical leap and had a 10-foot broad jump. But even with those testing numbers he wasn't satisfied.
"I feel like I did average," he said. "But every time I do something I never feel satisfied with what I did. I always feel like I need to do better than what I did."
Mississippi State seems to like what they have seen from the talented youngster.
"Mississippi State is the only school showing interest in me right now," said McLaurin. "I really haven't had to get out and show my talent, show what I can do."
If he continues putting up the camp numbers that he did at MSU, there is a good possibility that other college coaches will start showing interest in him.
