"One of the biggest things about Notre Dame for me was the spirituality," Dew-Treadway said. "And, not only that, but it was the overall right fit. I was searching for it during recruitment and hadn't found it. Notre Dame is it. I knew when we walked into the grotto that was when I wanted to commit."Dew-Treadway talked his thoughts over with his parents who made the trip as well. "I talked with my mom and dad about it, and they felt the same way," Dew-Treadway said. "So, in Coach Kelly's office I told him that I wanted to commit. He was excited." "It (committing) was kind of on my mind before visiting," Dew-Treadway said. "I thought it could possibly happen. Just being able to evaluate Notre Dame in person sealed the deal." Dew-Treadway could project at a number of spots on the defensive line. "Coach Elston said they are going to let me loose," Dew-Treadway said. "He said that I could develop into a pass-rusher from the inside and really push the action outside of the pocket. There's no definite position for me yet on the line." The 6-foot-4, 273-pound lineman is a three-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 34 defensive end in the class of 2015. "I'm done taking visits," Dew-Treadway said. "It's over."
Dew-Treadway discusses Irish commitment
When Irish defensive line coach Mike Elston visited Bolingbrook High in a suburb outside of Chicago at the of last month, he didn't waste much time extending an offer to three-star defensive lineman Micah Dew-Treadway. And, subsequently, Dew-Treadway didn't waste much time naming the Irish his leader, scheduling a visit, and ultimately making a commitment while on a visit to campus on Wednesday. The process took less than two weeks. "When I got there, I spoke with Coach Elston with my family about general things," Dew-Treadway said. "He's a great guy. I can really see myself being developed under him in the future." "We also met the defensive coordinator (Brian VanGorder)," Dew-Treadway said. "Oh, man, that guy. I love his fire. He knows so much about football. He is fun to be around." After meeting with the coaches, Dew-Treadway was given a tour of campus.
