Alexander enjoyed participating in the Mississippi State camp.
"I'm a DB but (MSU assistant coach and his recruiting coach Geoff Collins) wanted me to work with the linebackers," said Alexander. "I learned a lot of new drills that I wasn't aware of. Coach Collins made me comfortable through it all. I think I impressed him pretty good."
To say Alexander is under the recruiting radar is probably an understatement because this coming season will be his first year to play football.
"This coming year will be my first year to play football," said Alexander. "I went through the spring and played in the spring game."
Give two colleges credit for finding this diamond in the rough.
"Southern Miss came to our spring game and I had a pretty good game," said Alexander. "They want me to come to their June 17th camp. (MSU linebacker) Coach (Geoff) Collins happened to come by Huntsville and see me and see my size. He wanted me to come (to this camp). He has been checking on me weekly to see when I was going to make it here. I finally made it here today."
Not only did Alexander impress Coach Collins but Mississippi State also impressed Alexander.
"This is my first time to visit Mississippi State," said Alexander. "I think it's a wonderful place. They have very nice facilities and all the coaches are friendly. I also like the atmosphere here."
Alexander isn't going to sit back and wait for more college coaches to come see him play. He's being very proactive when it comes to recruiting.
"I'm going to try and go to the Ole Miss camp and a few other camps so that I can be seen," said the talented football newcomer.
