"I think I did pretty good," said Shaw of his camp showing. "I just came out here to have fun.
"I wasn't expecting to camp, because of my knees.
"Once I got here, I was like what the heck.
"I just decided to come out here and grind and show the coaches what I could do.
"I decided that I wanted to get out here and compete."
Shaw was part of a talented group of ball carriers taking part in Friday's camp.
"There was some good competition out here," said Shaw. "There were some good running backs and some really good linebackers.
"I feel like I measured up pretty good with everything and that I did pretty good overall.
"I would give myself an A."
Shaw had the chance to work under the direction of Bulldogs' running back coach Greg Knox.
Shaw reports that the experience was a very positive one.
"He's a great coach," said Shaw of Knox. "This was my first time working in drills with him.
"I feel like if I decided to come up here that he would get me right and have me ready to play Division one football."
The Bulldogs remain a strong consideration for Shaw, but he still has some thinking and traveling to do before making a decision.
"I feel good about Mississippi State," said Shaw. "It's a great school and they were the first school to offer me.
"They were the first ones to give me a chance and every time I come back here, they make me feel at home.
"I am going to take some more visits and just take things slow.
"I am going to visit South Carolina and go see what that is like.
"I want to see everything and just get an idea of what every school is like before I make a decision."
Shaw is considering making his decision after the season.
The talented rusher is excited about the possibilities in his senior campaign.
"I think we are going to be really good this year," said Shaw. "We do have some spots to fill, but I think we're going to be able to do that and be ready to play.
"I am ready to get started."
