"It was fun working with Coach Knox," said Akers. "He really pushed us to get better and that was the whole purpose in coming out here."
While Akers spent some quality time with his potential position coach, the subject of his offer did not come up.
"I don't know if my offer from them is official." said Akers. "I feel like they are close to making everything official, but as of now I don't think it is official."
While that issue will be cleared up soon, Akers reports that his feelings about the Bulldogs are very positive.
"I love the school," said Akers of Mississippi State. "They have a great academic program and a great football team.
"I would love to come here."
Akers lines up behind center in high school, but he knows that he will make the move to another spot on the next level.
"I feel like my main two positions are running back and cornerback," said Akers. "I can play any of the positions in the secondary, but I am willing to play wherever they give me a scholarship to play.
"Wherever they want me to be, is where I will be."
