MSU Coach David Turner Interview, June 23rd

Mississippi State Defensive Line Coach David Turner talks one-on-one with Gene's Page about his position players.

You have talent, experience and depth at all four defensive line positions. You should feel good about your group due to that?
"I do. We have guys who have played a lot of games and that experience really helps them."

What are your thoughts about the defensive tackles?
"I feel good about the players that we have there. We have some experience at those two positions.

"We have veterans like Kaleb Eulls, P.J. Jones and Curtis Virges that I feel really good about going into the season. P.J. is finally getting healthy, so I hope to see him perform like I know that he can. Nelson Adams got to play in a lot of games last season and he should be even better this season. Chris Jones did well during his freshman season and has lost a little weight, so he should be even better. Nick James will be playing and I hope he is back on the right track and performs like I know that he can. And Trent Simpson is a redshirt freshman who continues to improve."

Like the defensive tackle position, you also have talent, experience and depth at defensive end?
"We do. Preston Smith had a great season for us and we expect him to do well this season. Corvell Harrison and Ryan Brown give us more experience there and we need to see both of them step up this season. A.J. Jefferson and Torrey Dale should also be improved this season. And John Harris is back to give us added depth."
