"I feel like I have doing pretty good with everything," said Champion of his spring combine showings. "I think I did good against all of the top guys.

"I'm just trying to keep getting better."

Now an athletic 6-5, 282 pounder, Champion is slated to be on campus for Mississippi State's Big Dawg camp July 18th.

"We haven't really talked about what all they have planned or anything," said Champion. "They just told me that they want me to come."

Several schools have continued to recruit the Jackson, Mississippi standout despite his commitment to the home state Bulldogs in Starkville.

"It's pretty much the same schools," said Champion. "I am still hearing from all of them.

"I still good about my decision though and my commitment to Mississippi State.

"I don't talk to them that often, but Coach (Greg) Knox messages me a couple of times every week.

"He says he's ready to get me up there."

Before Champion will wear the Maroon and White of Mississippi State, he will have more more season as a Charger at Callaway High School.

"I feel good about the season," said Champion. "I think if we all just stay humble and work hard, then we can have a big year.

"The workouts and all have been going good and I feel like we can have a good team this year."
