Dogs Pull Even With Danley

Offensive lineman Jamal Danley always felt he had the ability to play big time college football. Now the East Mississippi standout has the offer sheet to prove it. Earlier this week, the three star big man reeled in an offer from the Florida Gators, the latest an impressive string of options.

"When I got in yesterday, Coach (Buddy) Stephens said that I needed to call Florida," said Danley. "I called and they put Coach (Mike) Summers on the phone.

"He told me that they really wanted me to come there and that they had an offer for me."

A trip to Gainesville is now in the works, which could slow down the decision making process for the Byhalia, Mississippi native.

"I am going to take an unofficial out there sometime soon, but I am not sure when," said Danley. "I want to go check things out before I make a decision."

The Gators are not the only program hoping to host Danley before the season opener.

"I am still planning on going to Oklahoma for a visit sometime around the first," said Danley. "I am not sure of the exact date, but it will be around then.

"I want to go and visit the campus and talk with the coaches."

Mississippi State had the chance to roll out the Maroon carpet for Danley and his father this past Friday.

"I had a good time up there," said Danley. "It was like most of the other visits.

"I got to talk with the coaches and some of the players and I enjoyed being up there."

It appears that Mississippi State recruiting efforts have paid off as the Bulldogs who trailed Oklahoma prior to the visit have improved their standing.

"I would have to say that Mississippi State and Oklahoma are even right now," said Danley. "I know my dad would like for me to stay in state, but he's told me that if Oklahoma is the best place for me, then he would support my decision.

"I am still thinking about what I am going to do, but right now they're even."
