HITTERS

Senior Matthew Britton - Hyannis Harbor Hawks, Cape Cod League

Britton was brought in to play for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks as a temporary player. He wound up hitting .303 in 10 games. He was 4th on his team in batting. Overall, his team hit .249.

Sophomore Cody Brown - Bethesda Big Train, Cal Ripken League

Brown batted .299 with 4 home runs and 16 RBI in 107 official at-bats during the regular season. His batting average was 4th among the everyday players on his team. His batting average was 14th among all players in the Cal Ripken League.

Senior Wes Rea - Bethesda Big Train, Cal Ripken League

Rea ended up hitting .267 during the regular season. He also hit 5 home runs and knocked in 20 runs. The home runs led his team and his RBI total placed him 4th on the team, this despite only playing in 18 of the 37 regular season games. His home runs tied him for 2nd in the league while his RBI total tied him for 10th. In his last 10 games, he hit .297 (11-of-37, 2 HR, 8 RBI).

Sophomore Gavin Collins - Bourne Braves, Cape Cod League

Collins is hitting .220 with 1 home run and 11 RBI. His batting average is the 4th highest among all catchers in the league. The three other catchers above him are hitting .300, .248 and .246. And all three of them are going into either their junior or senior seasons. He is the top fielding catcher in the Cape Cod League with 0 errors in 166 chances.

Senior Seth Heck - St. Cloud Rox, Northwoods League

Heck is hitting .241 with 0 home runs and 15 RBI in 158 at-bats. He has a fielding percentage of .958.

Redshirt freshman Dylan Ingram - Lima Locos, Great Lakes League

Ingram is hitting .274 with 3 home runs and 36 RBI. He is 37th in the league in batting average. His 3 home runs puts him tied for 8th in the league. He is tied for the league lead in RBI.

Redshirt freshman Brent Rooker - Plymouth Pilgrims, New England League

Rooker is hitting .275 with 7 home runs and 20 RBI. His batting average is 26th in the league, while his home run total is tied for 3rd in the league and his RBI total is 14th in the league. He is 5th on his team in hitting, although the other four players are either going into their junior or senior seasons.

Redshirt freshman Joey Swinarski - Danbury Westerners, New England League

Swinarski suffered a concussion which limited him to only 11 games He hit .107 in 28 at-bats with 1 home run and 1 RBI.

Senior Jake Vickerson - Santa Barbara Foresters, California League

Vickerson is hitting .323 (30-of-93) with 0 home runs and 11 RBI. He has only struck out 6 times in 110 at-bats. His .323 batting average puts him at 21st in the league.

Senior Cody walker - Santa Barbara Foresters, California League

Walker has played in limited action, hitting .214 in 56 at-bats.

PITCHERS:

Redshirt freshman Jacob Billingsley - Bethesda Big Train, Cal Ripken League

Billingsley, prior to suffering a minor injury, was almost unhittable, allowing 0 runs on 3 hits in 14.2 innings of work as a reliever for a 0.00 ERA. He struck out 16 and walked 5. Teams hit .057 against him. When you look at the stats for all of the pitchers in the entire league, there were only three others who threw at least 10 innings and didn't allow an earned run. Those three pitchers were a sophomore, junior and a senior. Billingsley was mainly used as a setup man but did close the last game he pitched in.

Junior Myles Gentry - Wareham Gatemen, Cape Cod League

Gentry only threw in 5 games, allowing 0 earned runs on 1 hit and 4 walks while striking out 5 in 5 innings.

Sophomore Zac Houston - Plymouth Pilgrims, New England League

Houston has appeared in 13 games, allowing 11 hits and 16 walks while striking out 30 in 23 innings. His ERA is 1.17. He has 2 saves and a 1-0 record. Of the 13 games he appeared in, he closed 7 and was brought in after the 6th inning in 5 of the others.

Sophomore Dakota Hudson - San Luis Obispo Blues, California League

In 6 games, Hudson threw 21.1 innings, allowing 18 hits and 14 walks while striking out 27. His ERA is 4.64. He has a 2-2 record. On a positive note, of his outs that were not strikeouts, he had 21 ground outs and 10 fly outs.

Junior Ben Hudspeth - Lima Locos, Great Lakes League

Hudspeth threw in 14 games, throwing 12 innings, while allowing 12 hits and walking 16 to go along with his 17 Ks. His ERA is 9.00. He has a 2-1 record and 1 save.

Redshirt freshman Glenn Irby - Danbury Westerners, New England League

Irby only pitched in 3 games, throwing just 2 innings while allowing 5 hits and 6 walks in addition to his 2 strikeouts. His ERA is 36.00.

Senior Lucas Laster - Bourne Braves, Cape Cod League

Laster has been mainly used in relief. In 13 games, he has thrown 21.2 innings, allowing 23 hits and 6 walks while striking out 20. He has a 0-0 record, 1 save and an ERA of 2.90. His ERA is the 5th best on his team. The second half of the season, he has mainly been used in middle relief and normally throws 2 to 3 innings an outing.

Redshirt Freshman Levi Mintz - Danbury Westerners, New England League

Mintz has thrown in 10 games, allowing 14 hits and 10 walks to go along with his 10 Ks in 14.1 innings of work. He has an 0-2 record, 0 saves and a 4.39 ERA. Although his season ERA is high, he has shown improvement late in the season. In his last three outings, he has thrown 7.2 innings, giving up just 1 run on 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4.

Sophomore Austin Sexton - Lima Locos, Great Lakes League

Sexton has appeared in 8 games this summer, 6 of which were starts. One of his relief appearances has been in the playoffs. He has a 2.95 ERA and a 2-1 record. During his 42.2 innings of work, he has given up 39 hits and walked 13 while striking out 35. His regular season ERA of 2.89 was tied for 12th best in the league.

Sophomore Vance Tatum - San Luis Obispo Blues, California League

Tatum has thrown in 13 games, throwing 29.3 innings while giving up 26 hits and walking 20 to go along with his 21 Ks. He has a 5-1 record and 0 saves. After struggling early in the season, Tatum has pitched extremely well during the second half of the season, throwing 19.1 innings while giving up 15 hits and 8 walks to go along with his 15 strikeouts. His ERA during that period is 2.79. It was 9.58 earlier in the season.
