ScoutTV: MSU SO OL Justin Senior Interview

ScoutTV/Gene'sPageTV: Mississippi State redshirt sophomore Justin Senior talks one-on-one with Gene's Page's Steve Robertson.

Justin, you have had a year to get adjusted to this Bulldog football program. What has the transition been like this year?
"This year has been nice. Everything has gone faster, a little more crisp. We are more about big plays this year rather than just grinding it down. This year, we are trying to score as much as we can."

Last year, you got some reps at left tackle. This year, you are being mentioned as playing some right tackle. Where do you see yourself contributing to the Bulldog program this year?
"I can contribute on either side, anywhere I need to be. Starting right tackle, starting left tackle, it doesn't really matter. As long as I get some playing time, I will be alright."

You have been here for a couple of springs and you have been through a couple of summers with (former MSU strength) Coach Balis and (current MSU strength) Coach Court. What kind of differences do you see in yourself as a player?
"It's definitely (much) easier to know how to play. Before, when I was a freshman, everything went really fast and it was really hard. It was almost like I was just surviving practics than competiting for a spot. Now, I'm trying to practice on my technique and become an SEC lineman rather than just playing."

A lot of people this team will only go as far as the offensive line takes them. How do you guys feel about that responsibility?
"I think we are ready for that responsibility. It's always like that for every team. If you line can't go, then your team can't go. It's the same as last year.a"

Final question; how is this offensive line better this year compared to last year?
"We are faster, a lot faster. We have a lot more veterans up front. A lot of people know exactly what they are they doing and what they are supposed to be doing rather than just focusing on what the play is. They are focusing on the small things, the little tweaks that make it better than just running left and right. They are doing the basic stuff."
