Although he still has two years of high school ball yet to be played, Jones already has six schools showing interest in him, including two that have offered.
"I have interest from Memphis and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, Mississippi State is showing the most interest, Ole Miss is showing interest, Arkansas State and Middle Tennessee State have both offered," said Jones.
With Mississippi State showing the most interest in the talented junior, Jones is reciprocating that interest.
"Mississippi State has a really good program and I really like the way they run things there," he said. "I really like the way they are adding on to the campus, like the new facility that they have and the new addition to the stadium. I'm really showing a lot of interest toward Mississippi State."
Jones explained why college coaches are so impressed with him.
"The coaches like my look, my size, my length and my makeup," he said. "I can usually get to other athletes before they can get to me and I'm more physical than my opponent most of the time. I've really worked to get that thanks to the mentality that I have."
Jones plays on both sides of the ball for Starkville High School but has a preference for defense.
"I have told (college) coaches that I want to play on the defensive side on the next level," said Jones. "When I go to camps at Mississippi State and Ole Miss, I camp on the defensive side."
