"That was the first time to visit Mississippi State," said Hopkins. "I really liked it. I really liked the facilities. I definitely want to come back to a basketball game."
He also came away very impressed with MSU head coach Rick Ray.
"I really liked how the coach (Rick Ray) handles his offense and how he handles his team," said Hopkins. "I like how he handles himself and how he looks at things in life. He's a really nice guy."
He's also formed a close bond with the coach recruiting him for MSU, Wes Flanigan.
"I really like Coach Flanigan," said Hopkins. "We have a really close relationship. I have been talking to him for awhile now and we have gotten really close."
While talking with Coach Ray, he found out how interested Mississippi State is in him.
"Coach Ray said they really like me and (teammate) John (Petty) and will continue to follow up throughout the season and see a few of our games," said Hopkins.
Mississippi State is one of several colleges that Hopkins has visited. And he has plans to visit at least one other college before his high school season starts.
"I have visited Middle Tennessee State and I have visited Auburn once, last year, and UAB once," said Hopkins. "I think we might go up to Murray State but I'm not sure yet."
Hopkins described his offensive game.
"Offensively, I'm more of an attack-to-the-basket threat but I'm working on my jump shot so that I can be more of a threat outside," said Hopkins.
