MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update Week Three

The Mississippi State "DawgFam15" had some pretty serious on the field success this past weekend. Several Bulldogs to be have already notched their third wins of the season as they prepare for region play soon. The games only get bigger from here.

Maurice Smitherman and Minor evened their record at 1-1 after a 27-23 win over Hueytown. MHS will host John Carroll Catholic this week.

Hoover got their first win (1-2) 12-0 over Mountain Brook, but Bulldog verbal Justin Johnson was sidelined with an injury. The Bucs take on Oak Mountain this week with Johnson probable for the game.

Keith Mixon scored a pair of touchdowns as Shades Valley (3-0) shutout Center Point, 27-0. Shades Valley will travel to Lafayette, Louisiana this week for a Saturday game against Acadiana High.

Nick Gibson has his biggest game of the young season with touchdown runs of 80, 65, 4 and 2 yards in a 48-0 shelling of Woodlawn. Pinson Valley (2-1) will take on Gardendale this week.

Kendell Jones and Clay-Chalkville are rolling along and blowing teams up. CCHS knoced off Hillcrest 48-26 to move on to 3-0. Huffman visits this week.

Darrien McNair and Trinity Catholic finally got their season started after having their season opener canceled due to weather. The Celtics beat Palatka 27-3 and will now travel to Gainesville-Eastside in search of a 2-0 mark.

Kentavious Thomas ran for 138 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries as Baldwin (2-0) blew out Alcovy 30-0. BHS will host Tift County this week.

Trey Derouen and Parkview came up on the short end of the stick against Peachtree Ridge 41-24. PHS (1-1) will take on Brookwood this week.

Jamal Peters had 49 yards and a touchdown on three catches and seven tackles as Bassfield routed rival Prentiss 44-16. The Yellowjackets (3-0) will host Mark McLaurin and Collins this week who fell to (1-2) with a 38-24 loss to Harrison Central.

Jonnas Spivey and Bay Spring just keep on rolling. Spivey completed seven of nine passes for 179 yards and a pair of scores and he rushed for four more and 158 yards on just 11 carries as the Bulldogs destroyed Pelahatchie 49-6. Bay Spring will travel to Heidelberg in search of a 4-0 start.

Cameron Myers and Oak Grove (1-0) had their game with Pearl River Central canceled due to lightning. The Warriors will host Biloxi this week.

Malik Dear scored four touchdowns as Murrah cruised by Jim Hill 41-0. Now 3-0, the Mustangs will host the struggling Chargers of Callaway and Tommy Champion who fell to 0-3 with an 8-7 loss to Provine.

Dontea Jones and Louisville fell to rival Noxubee County 49-14. The Wildcats, 2-1, will travel to Philadelphia this week.

Keith Joseph Jr. had six tackles and a pair of sacks as Pascagoula (2-1) defeated Greene County 34-14. The Panthers will be on the road this week at D'iberville.

Jarvis Wilson scored on an eight yards run as Tupelo ran their record to 3-0 following a 38-8 victory over Shannon. #ThemBlankets will host Saltillo this week.

Chris Stamps and Warren Central continue to be very stingy on defense as the Vikings blasted rival Vicksburg 42-0. The Vikes (3-0) have allowed just 12 points in three games this year. WCHS will host Natchez this week in a pretty big match-up between a pair of hot teams.

Farrod Green and Wesson have already surpassed their win total of 2013. The Cobras picked up their second win of the 2014 season after a 28-19 contest with West Lauderdale. WHS, winners of two in a row, will travel to Seminary this week.

Tim Washington and Yazoo City were off last week and will be off again this week. The Indians (2-0) will travel to Clarksdale next week.

Alec Murphy made his presence known last week as he ran for 152 yards and four touchdowns on 16 carries in Nixa's 37-2 win over Branson. NHS will take on Willard this week in hopes of evening their record at 2-2.

Nick Tiano was 13 for 24 for 124 yards and a score as Baylor knocked off Montgomery Bell 23-20. The Raiders (3-0) host Brainerd this week.

Harrison Moon helped pave the way in Signal Mountain's cakewalk over Bledsoe County, 56-0. SMHS (3-0) will take on Red Bank High on Friday.

Chason Virgil threw for 348 yards and dive touchdowns as West Mesquite (2-0) demolished Wylie 60-7. WMHS will be back in action this week as they host Red Oak.

Deddrick Thomas scored from 60 yards out as Central raced past Melrose 42-18. Central (3-)) will take on Whitehaven this week in a big game for both teams.

Donald Gray caught seven passes for 95 yards and a touchdownn in a 46-10 loss to East Mississippi.

Jonathan Calvin recorded seven tackles and was one of the bright spots on defense on a pretty dismal night.

Co-Lin (1-1) will host Mississippi Delta on Thursday.
