MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update Week Five

After a week's hiatus to relocate, the Commitment Scoreboard is back. The group has grown in number with the addition of four star defensive tackle Fletcher Adams. All 28 commitments are expected to be in action this week as the district schedule is here for several programs.

Jarvis Wilson of Tupelo Ran for 167 yards and two scores in a 21-9 win over Saltillo two weeks ago. Wilson also recorded eight tackles in the win. The Golden Wave (3-0) had a bye week last Friday, but will take on Hernando this week.

Chris Stamps had one of his best games of the season last Friday night in a 30-0 blanking of Natchez. Stamps rarely sees the ball thrown to his side, but last Friday he snagged an interception and made a pair or tackles. Warren Central (4-0) has allowed just 12 points on the season. The Vikings play Northwest Rankin this week.

Fletcher Adams had a season high 16 tackles against Northwest Rankin last week in a 27-6 win. Brandon (3-1) will take on Terry this week.

Mark McLaurin continued his strong play in a 24-6 win over Lawrence County. McLaurin had a 50 yard touchdown reception to go along with an interception and two pass deflections. Collins (3-2) will travel to Seminary this weekend.

Malik Dear continues to make his case for Jackson metro player of the year. Dear scored three touchdowns last weekend in a 34-16 win over Forest Hill. The Mustangs (5-0) will play Greenville this Friday.

Cameron Myers led Oak Grove to a 42-28 win over Hattiesburg in the Hub City Classic 42-28 last week. Oak Grove (3-0) will host Forest Hill this week.

Jamal Peters had a 38 yard pass reception to go along with a pair of tackles and pass break ups in a 48-8 win over Hazlehurst. Bassfield (3-1) will host Jackson Prep in a rematch against the only team they lost to a season ago.

Tommy Champion and Callaway earned their first win of the 2014 campaign last week in a 24-18 win over Jim Hill. The Chargers (1-4) travel to Germantown this week.

Maurice Smitherman and Minor got by Jackson-Olin 40-16 to even their record at 2-2. MHS will travel to Gardendale this week.

Justin Johnson and Hoover rolled to their third straight win with a 56-6 shelling of Thompson. The sledding should be a little more difficult this week as rival Spain Park hosts the Bucs Friday night.

Keith Mixon scored on a three yard TD run as Shades Valley blew out Woodlawn 49-13. SVHS (5-0) will enjoy a bye week this week.

In a battle of Bulldog commitments, Nick Gibson ran wild, but Kendell Jones and his team from Clay-Chalkville got the win 45-35 over Pinson Valley. Gibson had over 200 all purpose yards and four touchdowns.

Pinson Valley (2-3) will host McAdory, while Clay-Chalkville (5-0) will host Center Point.

Darren McNair and Trinity Catholic saw their second game in four weeks canceled. Moore Haven forfeited the game to several injuries on the team. TC (3-0) will take on Clearwater Central Catholic this week.

Nick Tiano was 11 for 20 for 208 yards and a score in a 38-7 win over Pope John Paul II. Baylor (5-0) are off this week.

Harrison Moon and Signal Mountain improved their record to (5-0) with a 70-14 thrashing of Grundy County. Bradley County will look to challenge Signal Mountain this week.

Jonnas Spivey was 7 for 11 for 92 yards passing, ran for 94 yards and recorded three tackles in Bay Springs loss to Philadelphia 19-7. BHS (4-1) will travel to Quitman this week.

Trey Derouen and Parkview fell to 2-2 after a 13-7 loss to Grayson. PHS will look to back on track as they host Archer this week.

Kentavious Thomas ran for three touchdowns, but Baldwin High fell to Thomasville 19-18. BHS (2-2) host Upson Lee this weekend.

Dontea Jones had a handful of grabs, but was kept out of the end zone in a 43-20 loss to Columbus. The Wildcats (2-3) take on Kosciusko this week.

Keith Joseph Jr. and Pascagoula lost to D'iberville 21-10 last week. PHS (2-2) will take on West Harrison this week.

Farrod Green and Wesson saw their record dip back under .500 after a 50-0 loss to North Pike. The Cobras (2-3) will travel to Salem this week in search of win number three.

Tim Washington and Yazoo City (2-0) will take on Greenwood this week.

Alec Murphy and Nixa continue to have a tough go of it. Nixa fell to 1-4 after last weeks 47-7 setback against Webb City. NHS will take on Neosha in an effort to get back on track.

Deddrick Thomas and Central High lost their second game in a row as East High got the better of Central 30-6 last week. CHS (3-2) will take on Manassas this week.

Chason Virgil was 19 for 29 with 287 yards and 4 TDs in last week's 51-7 beat down of Red Oak. West Mesquite will take on South Garland tonight.

On the season, Virgil has thrown 13 touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Donald Gray had touchdown grabs of 73 and 68 yards in Co-Lin's loss to SWCC 45-35. Jonathan Calvin and the Wolkpack defense will be back in action tonight against East Central.
