"I don't know him personally," said Gibson of Jones. "I talked to him after the game and we talked about being teammates and going to Mississippi State together next year.
"He's a great player and I feel like he's going to contribute when we get up there.
"It was a crazy game and I feel like my team played our hearts out, but we didn't come out with a win. That's just how life is sometimes."
Gibson is a Mr. Football candidate again this fall. The explosive back is well known throughout the state of Alabama, but when others see him they are beginning to associate him with his future school, Mississippi State.
"On Monday, everybody at school was asking me about the game against LSU," said Gibson. "Everybody was like 'I saw your team' and they were asking me if I saw the game.
"I watched the whole game on TV.
"It was great and I just loved how hard they played and how they came out with the victory."
So far this season, Gibson has not attended a game at Mississippi State, but he plans to in the near future.
"I am going to be at the Texas A&M game in two weeks and then I am going back when they play Auburn," said Gibson. "I have been watching them on TV, but I am looking forward to getting back over there.
"I love how the offense is playing and I feel like I can contribute when I get there. I feel like I am going to be successful in that offense.
"I love how hard they play on defense. I just love anything about them. Hail State!
"I feel great about my decision to go there and I can't wait to be a part of everything next year."
