I interviewed you about a year ago. You appear to have grown in height and weight since then.
"Yes sir, I was about 175 back then."
You got to play on Dudy Noble Field in front of the Mississippi State coaches during this travel team tournament. What kind of thrill was that for you?
"It was exciting for me. It was actually the first time that I have played in front of them on this field. It feels great being a commit here."
You'll probably be playing at Mississippi State when their new stadium is built. What are your thoughts about the stadium?
"It is going to increase the atmosphere for us a lot. I'm just ready to be here and play in front of the fans."
You are not just going to be a pitcher at Mississippi State but you will also hit. How would you describe yourself as a hitter?
"I hit for my high school team. And I hit alright. I'm a little bit of a power hitter but I'm more gap to gap. That is what I try to work on."
Other than pitching, what other position do you play?
"I play right field and first base."
How the Mississippi State coaches talked to you about where you will play in the field at Mississippi State?
"They haven't talked to me about it."
You pitched at Dudy Noble Field last week as well. What was your velocity during that tournament?
"I was sitting at 85-87, topped out at 89. That is kind of low for me, but I have pitched throughout the summer." [Trysten normally throws 87-89, top 92.-Gene]
Check out the video of Trysten Barlow pitching to several hitters during the travel team tournament at Dudy Noble Field. He was sitting at 85-87, top 88, with his fastball during his outing.
