MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update Week 6

Mississippi State currently holds 28 verbal commitments for the 2015 signing class. Most were in action last week in what proved to be a challenging Friday night on the gridiron. Only a handful of Bulldog pledges picked up a win last week.

Maurice Smitherman returned a kickoff 99 yards and picked off two passes in a dramatic 50-43 win over Gardendale. Minor (3-2) will travel to Homewood this week.

Jamal Peters and Bassfield avenged their loss to Jackson Prep last year in grand fashion. Peters had a rushing touchdown and a pair of pass break ups in the Yellowjackets 41-14 win. BHS (5-1) will take on West Lincoln this week.

Mark McLaurin and Collins continue to play well. The Tigers blasted Seminary 44-12 last week. CHS (4-2) will host Prentiss this week.

Cameron Myers and Oak Grove earned a tough Homecoming victory of Forest Hill, 21-14. The Warriors (4-0) will travel across the Leaf River to take on Petal this week.

Malik Dear scored another pair of touchdowns as his run towards Mr. Football continues. Murrah shut out Greenville, 38-0. The Mustangs (6-0) will travel to Madison Central this week.

Keith Joseph and Pascagoula blew out West Harrison 41-9. The Panthers (3-2) will play East Central this week.

Jarvis Wilson converted a two point conversion in a 43-6 win over Hernando. Tupelo (5-0) will be on the road this week at Grenada.

Chris Stamps had a pair of catches, two tackles and two pass break ups in a 21-13 win over Northwest Rankin. Warren Central (5-0) will travel to Greenville this week for another region game.

Donald Gray returned two punts for touchdowns and Jonathan Calvin recorded a safety in Co-Lin's 43-0 win over East Central CC. The Wolfpack (3-2) will travel to Pearl River tonight.

Deddrick Thomas and Memphis Central got back on the winning side of things last week with a 35-14 win over Manassas. Central (4-2) will travel to Hamilton this week.

Harrison Moon and Signal Mountain remained perfect on the campaign with a 27-7 win over Bradley Central. SMHS (6-0) will travel to Notre Dame this week.

Chason Virgil was 13 of 16 for 222 yards and three scores as West Mesquite won over South Garland in a cake walk, 75-27. West Mesquite (4-0) will be at Poteet this week.

Alec Murphy watched his team earn their second win of the season with a 39-7 win over Neosho. Nixa (2-4) will be at Ozark this week.

Fletcher Adams did not play in Brandon's 48-14 win over Terry, but is expected back next week when the Bulldogs (4-1) travel to Petal.

Nick Gibson rushed for 53 first half yards before being sidelined with an ankle injury in a 17-0 loss to McAdory. Pinson Valley (2-4) will play at Huffman.

Darrien McNair and Trinity Catholic dropped a wild one to Clearwater Central Catholic, 45-42. Trinity (3-1) will take on Tallahassee Maclay this week.

Trey Derouen and Parkview fell 42-7 last week to Archer. PHS (2-3) will return to action this week at Berkmar.

Kentavious Thomas and Baldwin lost their third in a row as Upson-Lee escaped with a 14-12 win. BHS (2-3) will play at Veterans this week.

Tommy Champion and Callaway continue to struggle. The Chargers fell to Germantown 35-7 to bring their record to 1-5 on the season. CHS will host Neshoba Central next.

Jonnas Spivey and Bay Springs lost 28-22 to Quitman. Spivey was 8 of 11 passing for 114 yards and two touchdowns. The Bulldogs (4-2) will play Richton this week.

Dontea Jones and Louisville dropped another one last week as Kosciusko beat the Wildcats 21-14. Jones suffered a knee injury during the game. His status for the game this week against Winona is questionable.

Farrod Green and Wesson lost a tough contest at Salem last week, 22-14. Green rushed for 32 yards and reeled in a pair of passes for 44 yards in the loss. The Cobras will play Hazlehurst this week.

Several other Bulldog verbals had a bye last week, but will be back in action this week.

Justin Johnson and Hoover (3-2) will travel to Spain Park.

Keith Mixon and Shades Valley (5-0) will take on Gardendale.

Kendell Jones and Clay-Chalkville (5-0) will play Center Point.

Tim Washington and Yazoo City (2-0) will play at Greenwood.

Nick Tiano and Baylor (5-0) will travel to McCallie.
