Mullins Flips to Mississippi State

Mississippi State picked up another big win on the football field on Saturday. In addition to the Bulldogs' huge win over Texas A&M, news leaked out about another 2015 verbal commitment. Aliceville, Alabama product Anfernee Mullins' verbal pledge made the rounds only adding to the Bulldogs' big weekend.

"I actually committed to Mississippi State last Saturday," explained Mullins. "It wasn't this Saturday.

"I told Coach (Geoff) Collins last week that I was ready to be a Bulldog."

Collins serves as Mullins' area recruiter, so the pair have had the chance to build a solid relationship.

"I really like Coach Collins a lot and I like Coach (David) Turner too," said Mullins. "They won't me to come in play defensive end and that's what I want too."

Mullins was on yesterday as the Bulldogs manhandled the Aggies of Texas A&M.

"I thought the defense played great and I think I would fit right in with them," said Mullins. "The crowd was really loud and it was a great atmosphere.

"I was glad I was there and I am going back next week when they play Auburn."

Mullins has been in the Bulldog commitment conversation since a strong camp showing in June. There was some talk about him joining the class then, but things were not officially settled until now.

"I really don't know what went on with all of that," said Mullins. "I know that Mississippi State is one of the teams that I have always liked.

"I have liked them since I was little and when they gave me the chance to be a Bulldog, I wanted to do that."

Mullins is the 29th verbal commitment for the 2015 signing class and another on a strong defensive line unit that features Fletcher Adams, Keith Joseph, Kendell Jones and Jonathan Calvin.
