"When I got to Mississippi State yesterday, I committed to Coach (Geoff) Collins as soon as I saw him," said Jung. "After the game, I was able to talk with Coach (Dan) Mullen and I told him I was ready to commit.
"Everybody was really excited and they told me that they were glad I was going to be a Bulldog."
Jung prepped at Greenville-Weston and was teammates with current Bulldog backer Gerri Green.
"Gerri has told me about all of the coaches and how it is getting out of Grenville and into Starkville," said Jung. "He told me about what all they do and what it's like there.
"It will be good having the chance to play together again."
Jung reports that his return trip to Starkville to see the Bulldogs play was a memorable one.
"I went to the Texas A&M game last week and the crowd was pretty good," said Jung. "The crowd this week was just wild.
"It was a great atmosphere and the game was great.
"I had a great time. I am going to go back to some of the other games when I can."
Jung is set to graduate from Holmes Community College in December and enroll in Mississippi State in January.
The 6-4, 225 pounder reports that he is eager to have the chance to represent his home state once again.
"I have to be honest, in the beginning I wasn't really planning on staying in state," explained Jung. "I am real close to my mom and that's a good thing.
"I am glad I am going to be able to stay close to her and I think this is the best thing for me."
Jung is the 30th commitment for the 2015 signing class and he reports that his pledge is the only one he plans to make.
"I am not just committed to Mississippi State. That's who I am going to sign with," said Jung. "I had offers from Ole Miss, Kansas, Central Arkansas, Troy and some other schools, but I just couldn't pass up the chance to be a Bulldog.
"I am really happy with my decision."
