Bulldogs Add Nation's #7 Center

Mississippi State picked up another big commitment out of the state of Alabama tonight both literally and figuratively. Bessmer City, Alabama standout Darryl Williams was an early offer for Mississippi State, but the three star standout was not persuaded to be a Bulldog until now.

Darryl Williams has not been one to crave the spotlight. Often avoiding interviews, Williams has elected to do his talking on the field.

Earlier this year, Williams was one of several of the region's best to take part in the Nike Opening. Even then the 6-3, 315 pounder was more concerned about getting better rather than publicity.

Last Friday night, Williams had the chance to play in front of Mississippi State assistants.

When it came time to announce his college decision, Williams elected to pass on the press conference.

Most of his peers elect to have their own moment and make their intentions known on twitter.

Williams elected to go a different route, Williams made a post on Facebook teasing his pending announcement and then followed through around 9 PM Thursday night with the following status update.

Bessmer City will play at Center Point Friday night, so Williams has elected to focus on that game rather than spend a lot of time with interviews.

While Williams declined to participate in an interview, he was willing to share one reason why he chose Mississippi State.

"I felt like it was home, so I chose them," messaged Williams.

Williams chose Mississippi State over offers from Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida State, Kentucky, South Alabama, Southern Miss and UAB.

Bessmer City High School is the former Jess Lanier High where former Bulldog and favorite son Nick Bell played.

Williams is the 31st prospect to commit to Mississippi State for the 2015 signing class.
