MSU Men's, Women's Basketball To Sign 3 Each

Mississippi State men's and women's basketball are set to sign three players each during the fall signing period.

Rick Ray and his staff are expected to sign three players during the early signing period, which begins today. The three are Tookie Brown, Joseph Strugg and Quinndary Weatherspoon.

Weatherspoon, who plays for Velma Jackson High School in Camden, MS, is rated a 4-star prospect by and ranked as the 24th best shooting guard in his class. He is 6-foot-5, 175-pounds.

Brown, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound point guard who plays for Morgan County High School in Madison, Georgia, is a 3-star prospect according to

Strugg is a very athletic 3-star forward who plays for Carver High School in Montgomery, AL. He comes from the same program as current Bulldog basketball players Craig Sword and Demetrius Houston.

On the women's side, Vic Schaefer and his staff are also expected to sign three players - Jazmine Spears, Jazzmun Holmes and Zion Campbell.

Spears signed with MSU out of high school but ended up going the juco route, Trinity Valley Community College. She is a 6-foot power forward who is rated the 7th best junior college sophomore by HoopGurlz.

The 5-foot-8 Holmes plays for Harrison Central High School in Gulfport, MS. She is a three-star recruit who is rated the 31st best point guard in her class by HoopGurlz.

The 6-foot-2 Campbell, who plays for Saint John's College H.S. (DC), is rated a 3-star prospect and the 17th best post player by HoopGurlz.
