Swain Set to Visit Starkville

Defensive lineman Maurice Swain will take the second of three scheduled SEC official visits when he visits Mississippi State this weekend. With a trip to Auburn under his belt, Swain will head to Mississippi State for the Bulldogs' final home game of the season. The Mississippi Gulf Coast standout reports that he is eager to get on campus and see the Bulldogs up close and personal.

"I have had this visit set up for a minute or two," said Swain. "I am driving up to Mississippi State tomorrow. My mama and hopefully my grandmama are going to meet me over there. I know my mama is coming."

Swain reports that he is eager to get to Starkville to learn more about his options in the land of all things Bulldog.

"I want to be around the coaches this weekend and I just want to see what all Mississippi State has to offer," said Swain. "I am excited about going up there and visiting some with Coach (David) Turner.

"Coach Turner offered me during my tenth grade year when he was at Kentucky, so we have had a relationship for a long time. He told me that he really wants me to come up there to Mississippi State.

"He said that he sees me as a defensive end when they play the 3-4 and then a three technique when they play a 4-3."

Swain has Mississippi State on the list as one of his finalists, but the Bulldogs have some work to do right now.

"Auburn is on top right now and I have already visited there," said Swain. "Mississippi State is #2 right now, but I am ready to see how things go up there this weekend. I am going to visit Kentucky on December 13th and then I plan to make my decision after I have taken all of my visits.

"I don't have anything else set up right now, but I plan on taking all of my visits."

Swain will be joined on campus by at least one current teammate who plans to visit Starkville unofficially and possibly more.

"I know Martinas Rankin is going to be up there and I think Tony Bridges is too, he's supposed to be," said Swain. "I know I'm going up there for my official and then I am going to see how things go with all of my other visits."
