GPTV: Traver Jung Season Footage

Mississippi State will see a pair of Bulldog linebackers make the move to the NFL next season, so Dan Mullen and his staff hit the recruiting trail to find a standout outside linebacker that could make an immediate impact. It appears that the Bulldogs found their man in Holmes Community College standout Traver Jung. See highlights of Jung in action in this video presentation.

Traver Jung is an impressive looking linebacker that has great size and speed. Jung's length makes him a bit unique. He has the wingspan to get his hands up into passing lanes and grab ball carriers looking for the corner as well as the catch radius to be a real tough draw out in pass coverage.

Jung is excellent in space and is able to use his quickness to corral opposing rushers before they get up a full head of steam. Jung is capable of making plays inside the tackles and shows no aversion to the physical play of interior offensive lineman.

It is easy to see why Jung was such a hot commodity out of Holmes CC. He plays with a tremendous amount of effort and never looks to be out of the play. Even when runners break containment on the opposite side of the field, Jung gives chase.

Bulldog fans looking for a comparison to a current player should look no farther than senior backer Matthew Wells. Jung has a similar skill set and will be expected to compete for the spot vacated by Wells upon his graduation.
