Team Mississippi: Cameron Myers

Last weekend, Cameron Myers officially visited Mississippi State, played for the 6A state title and packed a bag for All-Star week. An obvious selection for the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game, Myers has enjoyed the whirlwind as it comes as the reward for his hard work. Myers reports that a pair of schools remain in touch with him, but that he remains committed to Mississippi State.

"It's all been good," said Myers of the past few days. "It has been good to hang out with everybody and just have a good experience. It's a good group of guys."

A large part of the Mississippi All-Star roster is made up of Mississippi State commitments with eight future Bulldogs wearing the home state jersey this weekend.

"I played with a lot of them this summer," said Myers. "I kind of know a lot of them. It's been fun to be around everybody again and just have fun being together."

Myers was able to spend some time with his future teammates last weekend when he officially visited Starkville as part of his big weekend that included the 6A state title game.

"That was a great experience," said Myers. "I got to go to Coach Mullen's house and have fun with them.

"Robert Johnson was my host and I spent a lot of time around Brandon (Holloway) and the rest of the players. We had a lot of fun.

"I got to play my last game in Davis Wade stadium and that was a good experience. There was a great atmosphere there."

Myers reports that he remains strong in his commitment to Mississippi State, but a pair of other programs remain in touch with him.

"I am still hearing some from Alabama and Florida State. I am still solid with State though." said Myers. "I have a great relationship with Coach (Tony) Hughes and it's been like that for years.

"It will all be over with when I sign in a few weeks. When I sign that paper on signing day it will probably be the greatest thing that I have ever done."
