"I am real excited about the visit," said Jung. "My mama and her husband are going with me. We are all excited about it. I am at home now and we're going down there on Friday."
Jung has completed his coursework for the fall, but will be back in Goodman, Mississippi this spring as his completes the requirements for his associates degree from Holmes Community College.
Jung plans to enroll at Mississippi State in June for the first sessions of summer school and off season conditioning with the Mississippi State strength and conditioning coaches.
This weekend, Jung is eager to simply learn more about his future college home.
"I am looking forward to watching film with the coaches and learning more about my role in the defense," said Jung. "That's probably the thing I am most looking forward to. I want to be able to spend some time with the coaches and just get to know everybody and everything about the program better."
Former high school teammate Gerri Green will be on campus to help show Jung the sights of Starkville and aid in the guided tour of the Mississippi State football facilities.
"I am not sure if Gerri is going to be my host or not, but I hope we get to be around each other this weekend," said Jung. "I've known him for a long time and I am sure he is going to tell me about how it is down there.
"I want to know what to expect when I get to school down there and all of that."
While college recruiters are still making the rounds looking to fill out their classes, Jung reports that his commitment to Mississippi State remains solid.
"Mississippi State is were I am going," said Jung. "I don't have any other visits set up or anything like that. This is the only visit I plan on taking. I don't have anything else working.
"I am just going to finish up at Holmes and then get up there to Mississippi State. With the team we have coming back and the players we're adding to it, I feel like we could go all of the way next year."
