Jung Talks Bulldog Visit

Holmes Community College standout linebacker Traver Jung and his family made the trip from Greenville, Mississippi to the place the world lovingly calls Stark Vegas for his official visit. Jung reports that the two days he spent in his future college home have left a solid impression on him.

"I had a very good visit," said Jung. "I am so glad that I got to take this visit. I had a good time and I got to learn a lot about the defense. We got to see everything and we got to eat real good.

"We got to see a lot of the facilities and see all of the academic buildings and things like that."

Jung was able to get to see the lay of the Bulldog land under the direction of Mississippi State All-American linebacker Bernardrick McKinney.

"B-Mac was my host and he is a good guy," said Jung. "I didn't really know him before the weekend, but we got to know each other pretty fast this weekend.

"He told me about how things are and about how you have to work hard, but you can make it. He had a lot of good things to say."

In addition to learning some about the Mississippi State football program from a man on the inside, Jung was able to learn more about his role in the Bulldog defense.

"They are talking about me playing SAM linebacker, but if I can some weight they move me to WILL," explained Jung. "I got to sit on Coach Collins' meeting today and I learned a lot.

"During practice, I was watching how they coached the SAM linebackers and what all they did in practice. I was trying to see how they were doing things."

Jung made the trip with his mother and some other members of his family and it appears that the entire unit is sold on Mississippi State.

"I know that I made the right decision," said Jung. "My whole family is excited about it.

"This is a great opportunity for me and I enjoyed getting to be around all of the players up there. They made me feel like family."

Before heading for home, Jung was able to spend some time with Coach Dan Mullen and talk more about the future of Mississippi State football.

"One of the best parts of the trip was meeting with Coach Mullen," explained Jung. "He told me about what they were trying to do there and how he needs me to come in ready to play and help the team.

"I graduate in May, so he told me to stay on top of my grades and be ready to come in during the summer ready to go.

"I had a great time on my visit and I feel like we're going to have a great team next year. I am ready to get up there and get to work."
