"Coach Turner and I have had a relationship since he was back at Kentucky," Miggins explained. "He's been recruiting me for a long time, but things didn't really get serious with Mississippi State into late in the season."
Miggins reports that the Bulldogs made a big step and took their courtship to the next level by extending a scholarship offer to join the Mississippi State football family.
"They offered me a while back and I am visiting there this weekend," Miggins said. "I like Mississippi State and I am ready to get up there and see what it's all about. I have been talking some with Coach (Dan) Mullen and of course Coach Turner. They said that they are excited about me coming up there."
A former Louisiana-Lafayette signee, Miggins landed at Pearl River community college where he has been able to collect a few serious offers from major college programs.
"PRC has been a good experience for me," Miggins said. "I have learned a lot and I feel like this has been good for me. They have given me another chance to be recruited and given me another chance to get my education and play college football. They've been really good to me here."
Heading into the weekend, Miggins is not preparing to make a decision. The talented defensive tackle has two other official trips planned before making his announcement.
"I want to take my visits to Kentucky (1/23) and NC State (1/30) before I make my decision," said Miggins. "I want to see what everybody has to offer and to see how I fit in with the players and coaches. I want to go somewhere that the D line coach knows the position and has played the position before. I want to play for a coach who can teach me a lot of things to help me. I want to learn how to be the best football player that I can be."
