"It was so neat having Coach Mullen here," Murphy explained. "I had a lot of family here and a few friends and some of them were sort of in awe. It was sort of surreal for me too. This is really happening. Coach Mullen was in my living room visiting with me and my family. It really seems real."
Mullen took the time to lay out the plan for Murphy for this weekend and the next few years.
"We talked about my flights this weekend and what to expect on my official visit," Murphy shared. "He talked to me about expectations and hard work. I knew about all of that before I committed. I want to play for a hard working school and I know that's what I have at Mississippi State."
The three star standout is eager to get back to Starkville to spend some time with the Bulldog players and future friends and teammates also on their official visits.
"I enjoy making new friends and meeting new people," Murphy said. "I am excited about being around all of the other visitors this weekend and I want to see all of the friends I already have in Starkville like Nick Fitzgerald and some of the other players. It's always great when I go down there and I can't wait to get back."
Murphy has no plans to visit any other schools and is set to begin his Mississippi State experience in a few months.
"I am just ready to finish up and get down there," Murphy said. "I am supposed to report June 6th and then I will be there and getting ready for the season. I am excited to get down there this weekend and see everything. I just love the atmosphere at Mississippi State and I am ready to be around my family and all of my future teammates."
