Bulldogs In Favored Status

Mississippi State hosted a dozen visitors this past weekend. One of the most intriguing prospects on campus was Pearl River Community College defensive lineman Courtney Miggins. Miggins entered the weekend with an open mind and left with the Bulldogs solidly in his thoughts about his college future.

"I had a really good visit," Miggins shared. "Ryan Brown was my host and he really showed me around and made me feel at home. After I was around him for just a little while, I felt like I had known him a long time.

"Ryan told me what it's like and he told about how it really is up there. I feel like he told me the truth about everything and he made sure I enjoyed myself."

Miggins reports that the time on campus allowed him a chance to get a real feel for life as a Mississippi State football player.

"I got to see all of the facilities and they have some amazing facilities," Miggins said. "I got to go over to Coach Mullen's house and I got to spend a lot of time with the other players. I would say hanging out with all of the guys was the best part of the trip. They all made me feel like I was at home."

It appears that Mississippi State did a great job selling itself to Miggins.

"They really helped themselves, they really did," Miggins said. "I really liked it at Mississippi State. They are #1 right now and I feel like I would like it if I decided to go there."

Two more weekends remain before National Signing day and Miggins plans to spend both of those weekends on the road.

"I am going to visit Kentucky this weekend and I am still planning to go see NC State on the last weekend," Miggins said. "I plan on announcing my decision that Sunday when I get back from my last visit. I plan on doing it that Sunday night right before signing day."
