McWhorter had a great time at the camp.

"I really enjoyed it and learned a lot," said McWhorter, who has also camped at Coastal Carolina, Florida and Georgia this winter. "I really enjoyed the coaching staff. They are a great group of guys. And a great group of players."

He explained how he wound up attending the camp.

"I actually came on a visit here back in September and they asked me to come back to this camp," said McWhorter. "They said this would determine if they were ready to offer me or still wanted to see me play some more."

Although he's not sure when or if he will receive an offer from MSU, he knows how he feels about them.

"I loved everything at Mississippi State," said McWhorter.

In addition to Mississippi State, McWhorter is also receiving recruiting interest from several other colleges.

"Georgia sent me a letter inviting me to their camp and Coastal Carolina is showing interest in me," said McWhorter. "I visited the University of North Carolina. I also visited Valdosta State. My dad played there."

McWhorter is a dual-position player who plays both outfield and pitches. He described his game on the mound and in the outfield.

"I throw my fastball in the range of 82 to 85 miles per hour, my curveball is anywhere from 72 to 75 and my slider around 79 to 80," he said. "(Hitting-wise) I love using the opposite field. I hit to the opposite field gaps. (Defensively) I'm more of a corner outfielder."

Perfect Game rates McWhorter a 9, which according to their rating system means he is a potential top-10 round draft pick and a highest level college prospect.
