Bulldogs Offer Local Product

West Point big man Scott Lashley made the most of his junior season. In just his first full season of prep football, Lashley demonstrated the athleticism and skills that college coaches are searching for. As a result of his play last fall, the 6-7 295 pounder finds himself in the middle of the Mississippi State recruiting radar. The Bulldogs offered a scholarship earlier today.

"I heard from my Coach that Mississippi State had offered me a scholarship," Lashley explained. "Me and my father are about to call Coach John Hevesy right now and talk about everything."

Growing up within minutes of the Mississippi State campus, Lashley knows a thing or two about the Bulldogs.

"This is a big offer for me. It's huge," Lashley said. "Mississippi State is a school that my family has always followed. Getting an offer from them is a big deal. I am really blessed to have this opportunity."

The rising tackle prospect is eager to learn more about his options at Mississippi State, but he is not certain of a time frame for a potential decision.

"I am not sure about making an early decision," Lashley said. "I just want to see what all of my options are before I make my decision. I want to try to take my time with everything and just be sure about things."
