"My coach let me know that I needed to call a coach from Mississippi State," Roberson said. "I called and talked to Coach Billy Gonzales. He told me that they were offering me a scholarship. I talked with him, Coach Scott Sallach and Coach Dan Mullen."
Roberson reports that the news from Starkville was well received on his end in the Peach State.
"Mississippi State is a school that have been interested in for a while," Roberson said. "I like how they use their tight ends and I like how their program is coming up. I talked with the coaches and they told me that they like how I can block and how I get vertical after I catch the football.
"I am going to visit up there on March 28th. It's a junior day and I am excited about going over there and visiting the campus and meeting all of the coaches."
The Bulldogs are one of a half dozen options for Roberson. Florida, Kentucky, Michigan State, Missouri and Pittsburgh had all offered earlier in the process. So far, the talented tight end has not had the chance to visit any of the schools that have offered him.
"I went to Alabama for junior day and I had a good time over there," Roberson said. "I am going to Florida really soon and then over to Mississippi State on March 28th. I want to get out and see all of the schools I can get to this spring and summer."
Roberson has not set a time frame for a decision, but he knows what he is looking for in the college experience.
"I want to go somewhere that has great academics and graduation rates," Roberson said. "I really want to go somewhere that feels like a family and a place where I can get a great education. I want to be a Vet, so I am looking for a school with a great animal sciences department and a great football team."
