"I had a great time over there," Heard said. "I was finally able to get over there and I liked what I saw. I got to talk to Coach (Dan) Mullen at the beginning. He told me to walk around and see everything. He just wanted to me to enjoy myself."
Heard has the ability to play on either side of the ball, but it appears that the Bulldogs are projecting Heard to be a member of the defensive secondary.
"They wanted me to watch whatever I wanted to watch, but I spent a lot of time watching the DBs," Heard said. "I talked with the DB coaches and they told me that they want me to be a Bulldog and that they like what I have to offer."
It appears that the trip to Starkville has helped Heard grow closer to the Mississippi State program.
"I really like (Mississippi) State a lot," Heard admitted. "I had a great time over there and I can see myself playing there. I am really thinking a lot about all of that. They didn't ask me to commit or anything like that, but it could happen.
"Right now, my dad wants me to just take my time and wait it out it for a while. He likes Mississippi State a lot too, he just wants me to take some time to think about everything before I make a decision."
For now, Heard holds the Bulldogs in high regard as he goes through the spring semester.
"I am running track now," Heard said. "We have a track meet this week at Winona and I am looking forward to that. I am probably going to go back over to Mississippi State again. I got invited to Junior Day at Louisiana-Lafayette and I just started getting some mail from Tennessee. Mississippi State is the main school right now, but I am going to take some time to think about everything."
