"I went over there for Junior Day," Parker said. "I got there about 9 o'clock, so I could meet with the coaches before everything got started. Coach (Dan) Mullen told me that they had a scholarship offer for me."
New of the offer was welcomed by Parker and his family in a very big way.
"This is my first offer and I feel like an offer from Mississippi State is a wonderful offer," Parker said. "I feel like Mississippi State is a great school and a great football program. I know that they are moving in the right direction."
Over the course of the afternoon, Parker was able to see the Bulldogs in action first hand and get a sense of what it is like to wear the Maroon and White.
"I got to go to a lot of meetings and then I got to see them practice," Parker said. "I really like Mississippi State and I like all of the coaches there. They are the main school that is recruiting me right now and I am really happy to get that offer. It's a real blessing."
Parker, 6-5, 320, is very high on his prospects in Starkville, but he is not yet ready to make a decision.
"They didn't ask me to commit or talk about any of that," Parker said. "I am not sure when I am going to make my decision. I am just not sure about all of that yet."
DeSoto Central is a program that has taken some strides over the course of the past few years. Parker is part of a talented senior class that hopes to make their last season as Jaguars their best one.
"I am proud of all we have done," Parker said. "We just need to stay on our grind in the weight room and work hard this off season. I am real excited about the season and I feel like we should have a good season."
