"I had a great visit," Gibson said. "It was a lot of fun seeing everybody again and being around the players. I got to go in the locker room and talk with some of the players before the game.
"They were all welcoming me in like a younger brother. They told me to be ready to come in and that this is what it was going to be like once I get up there."
After the time with Bulldog players and coaches, Gibson was more than a casual observer to the events that took place at David Wade stadium.
"I thought the running backs really played good," Gibson said. "They have some good players and that excites me. I know that I am going to have to compete when I get there and that motivates me. They have some talented running backs up there and practicing with them everyday is going to make me better."
Over the course of the afternoon, Gibson was able to reconnect with some players he befriended over the course of the recruiting process.
"I spent some time talking with some of the guys from Mississippi State and then all of the guys from my area," Gibson said. "All of us from over here in Alabama already knew each other or knew of each other somehow. Mississippi State recruited over here pretty hard and we have some really good players heading over there. I kind of feel like it was all meant to be."
On the ride home, Gibson was able to think about the future and how soon it will all be here. His college football dream will be a reality in six short weeks.
"I was talking with my dad and he said it will all be here before we know it," Gibson said. "It's all really starting to sink in now. The next time I go back over there, I will going over to start school and be part of the team. I am excited. I can't wait to get back over there."
