Moon Prepared for Bulldog Summer

Offensive lineman Harrison Moon made the trip from Signal Mountain, Tennessee to Starkville, Mississippi this past weekend to see his future teammates compete for bragging rights in the annual Maroon and White game. The trip to Mississippi State only added more fuel to the fire for the personable Moon.

"I had an amazing visit," Moon said. "I didn't get to go to the spring game last year, so this was my first time being on campus for that. It was great seeing the team out there and they looked really good.

"Watching the game, it made me wish I had enrolled early, so I could have played. I saw some of the guys out there that signed with us and it made me a little jealous to be honest. I am ready to be out there on the field with my team."

Moon was able to spend some time watching the offensive lineman in action and observing his future position coach as the Bulldogs wrapped up their spring practices.

"I thought the guys did an amazing job," Moon said. "I think we have more depth than a lot of people realize and that's only going to make us better. Coach (John) Hevesy did a great job, but he's the best offensive line coach in America. It's just such an honor to be able to play for him."

Most of the 2015 signing class was on campus for the big day. Moon was eager to reconnect with the players who will soon be his teammates.

"I got to see a lot of the guys I went on the visit with and some of the other guys I met during my other times on campus," Moon. "It's all about to happen now. Pretty soon, we're going to be strapping on the pads together and going to workouts together. It's exciting and I am ready to just start building that bond and becoming a team together."

Moon reports that he and best pal, Nick Tiano, have spent a lot of time planning for their reporting date that is now just weeks away.

"It's all going to happen for us on June 2nd," Moon said. "I will be honest, about all I can think about is college right now. High School classes are pretty much wrapping up, so I am thinking about getting to Starkville.

"Nick and I have been talking about playing together for years and now it's about to happen. It's something we have always talked about, but I don't think either of us picked Mississippi State for each other. It was just the best place for both of us.

"I am looking forward to blocking for him. I hope I can do a good job and do my part to keep him upright and not on his backside too often. It's going to be great to play together and be a part of this with this great bunch of guys."
