Dixson explained what he hopes to learn about Mississippi State during his visit.
"I hope to learn what style of play they will be doing this year, the players that they have at my position and how will I be used," he said.
Something that intrigues him about Mississippi State is their hiring of Ben Howland as their new coach.
"I like that they got a new coach who coached (NBA point guard) Russell Westbrook," said Dikembe. "Maybe I'll be one of the next pros."
Mississippi State is one of three schools that he has plans on visiting.
"The (other) schools that I'm visiting are Kansas state and Arkansas, that's it for now," said Dikembe, who told me that he has offers from the three schools that he is visiting as well as South Carolina, Marshall, Bradley and Cleveland State.
Dikembe knows what he is looking for in a school.
"I'm just looking for an equal opportunity to go head to head with the guy at my position for a starting spot," he said. "I also want a coach to stay on me so that he can bring out the best in me and help me get to the next level."
